BLUESPEC NAMED 2007 DESIGNVISION FINALIST

ESL Synthesis Extensions for SystemC Chosen for System-Level Design Tools Category

Waltham, Mass. – January 11, 2007– Bluespec™ Inc. today announced that its ESL Synthesis Extensions for SystemC has been named a finalist in the system-level design tools category of this year’s DesignVision Awards.

ESL Synthesis Extensions (ESE) for SystemC was announced in May 2006 by Bluespec, developer of the only electronic system level (ESL) synthesis for control logic and complex datapaths in chip design. ESE offers a unified environment for modeling, software prototyping and implementation, and raises the level of design abstraction above the register transfer level (RTL) for general-purpose ESL implementation.

International Engineering Consortium (IEC) President John Janowiak states, “Our DesignVision Awards honor those catalyzing positive change in high-technology, business, and academia, completely in line with the IEC’s mission. We are delighted to announce the winners at this year’s DesignCon in Santa Clara and share the best design advancements with the entire industry."

Winners of the DesignVision Awards will be announced January 30 during DesignCon, which will be held January 29-February 1 at Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, Calif.

For more details on ESL Synthesis Extensions for SystemC, contact George Harper, Bluespec’s vice president of marketing, who can be reached at (781) 250-2200 or via email at george.harper@bluespec.com.

About Bluespec
Bluespec Inc. manufactures industry standards-based Electronic Design Automation (EDA) toolsets that significantly raise the level of abstraction for hardware design while retaining the ability to automatically synthesize high-quality RTL, without compromising speed, power or area. The toolsets, including the only ESL synthesis tools focused on control and complex datapaths, allow ASIC and FPGA designers to reduce design time, bugs and re-spins that contribute to product delays and escalating costs.
